Wellness Plans

Wellness care involves annual or semi-annual exams for your pet. With regular visits, we’re able to catch any problems early and treat them before they get worse (and more difficult to treat!). At a wellness exam, we’ll perform a physical exam, vaccinations if due, age-appropriate blood work, and a fecal exam as well as talk to you about their parasite prevention, nutrition, behavior, and any concerns you have. In our area, allergies are a common problem for our pets. With routine visits, we can stay on top of their allergy management and get them relief from the itch.

Teeth Cleaning

Our dental services focus on the importance of prevention. With regular dental cleanings, you can reduce and even eliminate your pet’s chance of developing periodontal disease, the single most common disease in cats and dogs. We perform:

  • Ultrasonic scaling of each tooth to remove plaque and tartar
  • Polishing of the enamel to reduce future tartar build-up
  • Application of fluoride and/or sealants to further protect teeth if necessary
  • Extractions, if needed, of diseased or damaged teeth

Every dental procedure is performed with the same safety protocols as surgery to ensure a smooth and safe experience for your pet.

Boarding

Whether you’re out of town for a day, a week, or more, board your pet in comfort and safety at our animal hospital’s boarding facility! We feature a range of different sized kennels and runs to accommodate every size of dog as well as families! For cats, we have spacious cat condos that allow your kitty to climb, cuddle up in soft blankets, and get some privacy, too. All canine guests enjoy daily walks and bathroom breaks as well as playtime from the staff. Extra walks and playtime are available at an additional charge.

Vaccinations

Cat and dog vaccinations are hugely important for their long-term health. Vaccines protect them against common, dangerous diseases that can take a serious toll on their health. At Lake City Animal Hospital, we follow guidelines set by the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners to minimize the risk of over-vaccination and maximize protection. We design a personal vaccination protocol for every patient to meet their unique needs.

Surgeries

Our veterinarian, Dr. Pratt, is exceptionally skilled in veterinary surgery. He can perform soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. Soft tissue surgeries involve skin, muscle, and organs while orthopedic surgeries involve joints and bones. Orthopedic surgeries are often more complicated and intensive, yet we have the technology and skill to perform them in hospital. Common surgeries we perform include:

  • Mass removal
  • Foreign body removal
  • Kidney/bladder stone removal
  • Spay and neuter
  • ACL repairs for dogs (cranial cruciate ligament repairs) including tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO)
  • Fracture repairs
  • Patellar luxation surgery
  • And more
